We provide a wide range of services to our clients in assisting with the self-publishing of books, business contracts, and / or websites. These services will be specific to each client, but the general services that we provide, include:
Initial Consultation Meeting
Our clients will meet with us to go over their project, goals, needs, desires, timeline, etc. We will go over our company, its policies, discuss our agreements, and answer any questions.
Getting Documents / Files Together & Pre-Editing Formatting
We will help our clients gather all necessary documents, manuscripts, images, etc., that will be needed for their project. We will also help the clients compile their manuscript into an appropriate format for working with.
Simple Read Through
We will read the manuscript and give basic feedback to our clients.
Coaching & Developmental Editing
We will assist our clients with the development of ideas and storylines during the process of writing their book. We will give feedback and assist our clients with the structure, organization, flow, and content of their manuscript. Substantial changes will be discussed and agreed upon by both parties.
Grammatical Editing
We will correct general spelling, grammar, tense, sentence structure, and punctuation within the manuscript. Substantial changes will be discussed and agreed upon by both parties.
Physical Book & EBook Formatting
We will format the manuscript into a print-ready book and an EBook. We agree to format the manuscript for publication according to industry standards, taking into consideration the Author’s preferences.
Physical Book & EBook Simple Cover Design
We can provide a simple cover design with stock images or images provided by our client. If our client would like a more extensive cover, the client is welcome to find an outside cover designer. We are willing to work with the cover designer to achieve the proper sizes and formats for the print-ready book and EBook designs.
Assisting With Self-Publishing
The Company will assist the Author in the account set-up process with various self-publishing platforms, for example Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP), Barnes & Noble Press (B&N), etc. At set-up, the Client will give their financial institution’s information to the self-publishing platform, where their royalties will be deposited (for more information, see ‘Section 8B. Royalties’). To self-publish the books, (1) the Company can assist the Author through the process of publishing their physical book and/or EBook, or (2) with the log-in information for the Author, the Company can upload the book documents and covers to the Author’s account and publish for them, with the permission and agreement of the Author.
Basic Website Development
For an additional charge, we can assist in creating a basic website. This would include advising our clients on various web-hosting and email-hosting options, and helping them find their own domain name. Once the client has purchased their domain name, web-hosting, and email-hosting, the Company can work on creating a simple site, with a few pages and an email address to start the Author’s web-presence. The Company will fix any errors, broken links, or misspellings on the website created. The Company does not offer regular maintenance or scheduled updates at the time of this Agreement.
Brief Website Consultation
For a flat fee, the Company offers brief consultation for a website the Client already has published online. The consultation would include, but not be limited to: checking for broken links, helping adjust any settings that may be impacting the site, verifying proper set up and connection to their chosen hosting platform and developmental software, offering ideas on how to improve the website, etc. By the discretion of the Company representative, if the consultation exceeds the Company criteria, the representative may discuss with the Client the option or need to enter into a contract for Basic Website Development, as described above.
Brief Website Consultation
For a flat fee, the Rainy Day Self-Publishing offers a brief consultation for a website you already have published online. The consultation would include, but not be limited to: checking for broken links, helping adjust any settings that may be impacting the site, verifying proper set up and connection to their chosen hosting platform and developmental software, offering ideas on how to improve the website, etc. By the discretion of the company representative, if the consultation exceeds the company criteria, the representative may discuss with the client the option or need to enter into a contract for Basic Website Development, as described above.
Writing Contracts / Documents & Simple Logo Design
We can help individuals and growing business expand their contracts or administrative documents by compiling and creating documents to fit their needs. We can also help design a simple logo for the individual or company, if requested.
